Deirdre Flint
Q: What do blind dates from hell, vengeful bridesmaids and deadbeat boob fairies have in common?
A: Not much unless you count the fact that they're all characters you'll find doing their thing in the music of Deirdre Flint.
This former elementary school teacher's music hangs out at the intersection where stand-up and folk collide.
Flint's first CD, The Shuffleboard Queens, made its debut in 1999. A year later, she had been chosen as A Kerrville New Folk Winner and Falcon Ridge's Most Wanted artists. She's performed at The Kennedy Center and been favorably reviewed in Billboard Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor and The New York Times.
Her music has been heard on TLC's A Dating Story, TLC's Documentary, "Always A Bridesmaid," and The BBC's Documentary "The Reclaimers." Which is about historic restoration. They used the song "New Shoes." Hmmm...
She's toured the country (as all folk musicians who own a car and 500 bucks have) and been heard on The Dr. Demento Show and The World Cafe.
She's also been interviewed twice on the Bob and Sherrie show, as well as a number of Morning Country Radio programs.
In 2005, Deirdre joined The Four Bitchin Babes. She joins Sally Fingerett, Debi Smith and Nancy Moran. Past members have included Christine Lavin, Patty Larkin and Julie Gold.

Deirdre plays the bass with this band and they're touring around the country (with more than a car and 500 bucks this time). Chances are they're coming your way soon!
