Dr. Demento - February 26, 2007

Well, after nine years trying, I am finally on a Dr. Demento basement tape, via The Four Bitchin Babes, via Taxidermal Therapy ( And the "tape" is actually a CD now). It's #15 and I share this big honor with people like Toxic Audio, Jonathan Coulton, Throwing Toasters and Paul and Storm.

You Tube again - January 22, 2007

Hiya. I played State College. I recorded The Metric System Song. Well, I didn't. A friend of mine did. But it was me playing, is what I'm saying. So if you go on You Tube and type in deirdreflint or Metric System, you might be able to find it. LEt's be frank. It's up there, but I can't find it. And when you type in deirdre flint, that LIP SYNCer of me comes up but I don't! Here's some more news. My Westside Cafe show is canceled. Sorry if you were coming. I just didn't think it was appropriate to be performing on groundhog day, a day which Pennsylvanians hold so sacred. That's not the reason. Anyway, If you were planning on going to that, I'll be with The Babes in an unexpected suprise performance at The Birchmere. So go see that instead!

XM Radio - December 8, 2006

Last week, The Babes did a concert at XM Radio. We also got a tour. It was fabulous. I've had XM radio for quite some time and just love it. The concert will be on in 2007. WHile there, I was able to give the weather report for PHiladelphia. I'm a weather girl! This weekend, we stay at a Casino Hotel. In Iowa. Check it out: I'm playing First Night at State College Again! Woohoo!

Kim Jong Il Against the World - October 12, 2006

New song, free download, go to my music page.

You Asked for it... - October 10, 2006

You got it!
Alright, you and I both know that frankly you didn't ask for it, but it sounds good, and I needed a flashy headline. I am playing the Tin Angel and the last time I played there, you were just a wee bit of a little thing. Look at you now! Look how far you've come! And you are looking terrific. Boy, you'd look even better with your tush in one of those fine, fine seats at The Tin Angel. So, it's Sunday, November 12th, that's when I'll be there. And hey, guess what? My song off The Four Bitchin' Babes album, Taxidermal Therapy, got played on The Dr. Demento Show. And hey, guess what else? We'll be on XM radio again sometime in November on the Take Five Channel. I know all about this channel as I HAVE XM radio, and trust me, I do not have it just to hear myself on the radio, because I haven't heard myself yet. This is because I"m usually listening to E True Hollywood Story channel, where they spend an hour talking about the chaotic life of Michael Flatley or Abe Vigoda or somebody like that.

From Deirdre - September 20, 2006

I am finally back teaching school again. (Subbing). I have a week long position in first grade. First Grade shouldn't be so bad. But boy, it's hard to get back into the swing of things. I wonder if that boy, Keith is going to tap his pencil EVERY day or just today? I see a drink in my future this evening. As you can see, I have two local shows, one for the Jersey-ites and one for the Pennsylvanians -- but feel free to cross bridges if you so desire. I surely would desire to see you there. Hormonal Imbalance has been selling like hotcakes. Better than hotcakes, really, as Atkins really put a stop to high volume selling of hotcakes. It is at CDBaby dot com.

Musings in August - August 5, 2006

August 11th is my show at Steel City. It's an annual thing. Unless nobody shows up. Then it will be a once every five years thing.
I've been really busy this summer, but every now and then I take a break. That means I surf on the internet. In a tragic event which I will not even go into at this point, I lost all TV capabilities. No TV. That means procrastination involves furious mouse clicking. Anyways...Check this out! www.43things.com. As if you don't have enough to procrastinate over. This will cause you endless hours of lost productivity.
By the way, do you know what NaNoRimo is? It's National Write a Novel in a Month Month. And it's in November. I have attempted this just once. I would like to attempt it again. Anyone else signing up for it?

Video of The Boob Fairy - July 9, 2006

HOw is this possible?? Steffan has a music video of my song before *I* do! Maybe Steffan has a *real* job and can afford it. Anyway, until I get one, enjoy Steffans! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKRYpQhBbGU

The Babes CD - May 15, 2006

The new Babes CD has just arrived. If you live in Wisconsin, you might have it already. It sounds good with cheese. We debuted it in Kenosha. You know what they say, if you can make it in Kenosha, you can make it anywhere. Even Milwaukee. I don't think it's on CD Baby yet, but it will be soon. You can go to the four bitchin' babes website to find out more.

Songwriting Contest - May 1, 2006

I placed Honorable Mention in the CMT (Country) songwriting contest with my song "Rut." Somebody told me after I sent it in that Rut had two meanings. Being a writer of clean material, it hadn't even crossed my mind. My song Rut was talking about the stalemate kind of rut. Here's the link:

sisters and martinis - April 22, 2006

StCharles, IL is a fabulous little town! We are here playing "Sisters Weekend" and they gave us bunch of coupons to use, so the babes went to a martini bar so we could use the coupon for a free appetizer. Chocolate martinis and bruchetta (or however you spell it) yum. Debi and Sally also ordered squid which I took a pass on mostly. Squid is like chicken in Korea - it's on every menu. I haven't been able to get over the fact that it's like chewing a rubber band, myself. Tonight we play after a pub crawl. Should be interesting!

My Space - April 15, 2006

A few years ago, I was down in Avalon, NJ at this bar where people in their late 20s and early thirties meet to scope out the young urban professional singles scene. Apparently, that year, the uniform was khaki pants from the limited with a black shirt and some sort of strange looking shoes that looked like something out of the preppie handbook. Also, that silver bean necklace that I think you buy at Tiffanies. Why anyone wants to wear a kidney bean on their neck, I have no idea. So I show up in a macrame top and platform shoes. I heard people say, "lookit! She's wearing a fishing net!" Anyway, I learned that it's best to go ahead and fit it! So when this my space thing happened I jumped right on! A little late, but I jumped right on. So I have a myspace page and it's http://www.myspace.com/deirdreflint
I have fewer friends than everyone else on myspace. Wait, that's like a flashback to high school! Anyway, check it out and, wow I feel so third grade in saying this, but if you'll be my friend I'll be your friend. Please don't get offended if I don't ask to be your friend. I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

new CD being recorded now! - March 31, 2006

We have spent the week working on the new CD and it has been insanely fun. Sally's big here in Ohio, so our Columbus show is sold out (900+ seats!) and so is our Cleveland Saturday night show, so a matinee has been added on Sunday. The new CD will be out sooner than I thought - you'll probably be able to get it by the summer and it will have Taxidermal Therapy on it. I know I'm being a bit biased here, but I love this album! We are not performing in the summer, so my schedule's free up for house concerts! Get in touch with me if it's something that sounds like fun!

but seriously... - March 17, 2006

You can gather pretty quickly from the topics I write about that I like to keep it light, but today's decision in Suffolk County has me extremely bummed out. Marty Tankleff has been in jail for years now, because he was found guilty of killing his parents. This kid was 17, it was the first day of school and the more you read about the case, the more you realize he has been in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Especially when another suspect attempted, after the killings, to fake his own death and move across the country. Marty's 34 now. Today, the judge ruled there would be no second trial. If you want to read about it and sign a petition, go here...

I'm on The Daily Source Code! - February 27, 2006

Hiya! Just returned from a lovely show in Longview Washington, a place that boasts the world's largest steam whistle, which I didn't see. They are not far up the road from the only free standing Birkenstock store I've ever seen - cause I live in Philly and we don't have free standing Birkenstock stores, not even near the Penn campus. But anyway, while I was gone, I got some exciting news - I was played on Adam Curry's Daily Source Code - it's episode 339. For those of you who aren't into podcasting, this means absolutely nothing, but for those of you who have taken the podcast plunge, you know how kool that is! (By the way, I'm at the very end of the show.) :)
